On the sidewall of the dining hall in Lyn Lear’s magnificent home, there is a large blackboard taken out of the office of a physicist and framed by her into art. Open-minded science at its best is a work of art. Alongside this art, Lyn graciously hosted dinner for a group of us, including myself and three other open-minded members of the UAP Science Advisory Council: Peter Skafish, Garry Nolan and Ryan Graves. Each of us described complementary experiences with Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) in preparation for a highly anticipated salon to be hosted at the home of the visionary Peter Diamandis the following day.
As I returned to my hotel, I noticed a UAP at the entrance and asked the bellboy: “What is this anomalous vehicle?” He replied “A Lamborghini worth a million dollars. It arrived here two days ago and the owner had not shown up yet to drive it.” This reminded me of some of the UAP stories I heard over dinner about intact alien spacecraft in the custody of humans.
Peter Diamandis is my kindred spirit. Soon after we initiated our first conversation, we realized that we agree on a vast number of issues without discussing them earlier. Peter is the founder and chairman of the XPRIZE Foundation. I reasoned that it would be fantastic to have a future XPRIZE on UAP, defined simply as the challenge of identifying a technological object that is not human made. Such a challenge could either stimulate related scientific search for clues that satisfy the XPRIZE judges or encourage someone who already encountered indisputable evidence to come forward and expose it to the public. That someone could even be President Trump.
My follow-up question to Peter was as follows: “Which of the following two events will happen first: the arrival of super-human intelligence that we create out of silicon chips or the discovery of alien technology?” Both are possible in the coming years. A superhuman intelligence would serve as the modern Oracle of Delphi which inspires awe and admiration from those who ask it questions. In 2026, nearly a trillion dollars were invested in artificial superintelligence but less than a millionth of that amount was invested in the search for alien intelligence. Given the commercial benefits from applying alien technologies for the benefit of humanity, the time is ripe now to fund the search for alien technology much more vigorously.
Six hours later, I jogged my daily 3 miles at sunrise with seagulls overhead along the beautiful Santa Monica beach. Stressing my muscles felt better than driving a car, for the same reason that writing an essay with my natural brain feels better than using AI.
For brunch, I met my dear friend Tim Dalrymple, President of the John Templeton Foundation, who was joined by Vice President Matt Walhout to discuss cosmic matters. The three of us agreed that humility and open mindedness are key for gaining new knowledge on UAP and ushering in a better future for humanity. The concept of fixing the world constitutes a central theme in Judaism, framed as Tikkun Olam (Hebrew: תִּיקּוּן עוֹלָם), which literally translates to “world repair”. The most important message that alien intelligence can carry involves a cosmic perspective on how humans can do better.

Subsequently, I introduced Tim to Peter as we arrived at Peter’s home. Among Peter’s list of distinguished guests was Jane Fonda who confessed to me that she is not a social animal — just like myself, that she considered residing in the kibbutz of the renowned Israeli writer Amos Oz, and that she is fascinated by UAP. Jane sat at the front row during the presentations.

The panel discussion on UAP in Peter’s backyard included an overview by Peter Skafish about the history of UAP data collection within the U.S. government, an overview of the Galileo Project and the UAP Science Advisory Council by myself, a review of UAP material analysis and field work by Garry Nolan and a description of UAP encounters with U.S. Navy pilots by Ryan Graves. The audience asked insightful questions and everyone agreed that the time is ripe to fund an XPRIZE on UAP research.
One of the most distinguished guests told me that he recently heard from an official at the highest level in the Pentagon that the U.S. is in possession of alien technology and related biological material. As I noted during the panel discussion, access to such materials will make it unnecessary to waste time over the interpretation of fuzzy videos. If the UAP Science Advisory Council can gain access to these materials, our scientists could help whoever owns them to make a profit out of them.
At the moment of encountering alien technologies, I will appear as humbled as a bellboy near a million-dollar Lamborghini, waiting for the owner to show me how to drive it.
